Headline rates are often "up to" figures that apply to specific categories. The full tier breakdown below shows exactly what each purchase type pays — something most comparison sites don't publish.
eBay keeps things simple with a single cashback rate that applies across most purchases. There aren't category splits or new-customer tiers to navigate, which makes it one of the more straightforward retailers on this site. The main gotcha is that cashback sometimes doesn't track on auctions or second-hand listings from private sellers — it's most reliable on "Buy it Now" items from business sellers. If you're buying from a big eBay store, you're usually fine; if it's a one-off private listing, don't count on the cashback tracking.
